How Does A Peanut Butter Machine Work?

2025-07-14

Peanut butter is a nutritious food with a delicate taste. Its production process is usually completed by a peanut butter machine. So how does a peanut butter machine work? What should you pay attention to during operation?

How does a peanut butter machine work?
1. Raw material selection
Separate high-quality peanuts from impurities (such as stones, soil, broken peanuts, etc.).
2. Baking
Send the peanuts into the roaster for uniform baking. Baking not only enhances the aroma of peanuts, but also helps to remove the skin. Temperature and time control are key, generally controlled at 160-180℃, time about 20-40 minutes, depending on the peanut variety and moisture content.
3. Peeling and cooling
The roasted peanuts are peeled by a peeling machine and then enter the cooling system to prevent the high temperature from continuing to react and affecting the taste and color. The cooled peanuts are suitable for the next process.
4. Coarse grinding and fine grinding
The peanuts are ground in two steps using a paste grinder:
The first stage is coarse grinding, which turns the peanuts into coarse granular peanut butter;
The second stage is fine grinding, which further grinds them into a fine paste, and adds edible oil if necessary to adjust the consistency and taste.
5. Homogenization and degassing
In order to improve the fineness and stability of peanut butter, air is removed through vacuum degassing equipment to prevent peanut butter from oxidation and deterioration, which affects the shelf life.
6. Mixing and sterilization
Sugar, salt, vegetable oil and other auxiliary materials are added to the mixing tank for seasoning and mixing. After mixing, pasteurization or high-temperature instant sterilization is required to ensure food safety.
7. Filling and sealing
The sterilized peanut butter is filled into glass bottles, plastic bottles or other containers through a filling machine under sterile conditions, and finally sealed and packaged.

Precautions for using peanut butter production equipment
1. Raw material quality control
Using fresh, dry, and mold-free peanut raw materials is the prerequisite for ensuring the quality of peanut butter.
2. Equipment cleaning and maintenance
Peanut butter is a high-fat food that easily adheres to the surface of the equipment. After daily production, the equipment in contact with the material must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent bacterial growth or cross-contamination. At the same time, the equipment should be maintained and lubricated regularly to extend its service life.
3. Temperature and time control
Too high baking temperature will cause the peanuts to be bitter, and too low baking temperature will cause the flavor to be insufficient. The equipment temperature must also be controlled within an appropriate range when grinding the butter to avoid destroying the nutrients due to high temperature.
